Through its wide network of 52 branches and 19 chapters having around 10,000 members drawn from public and private sectors,( IIMM is dedicated to the promotion of the profession of Materials Management) and with its multifarious activities.

The institute is governed by a national council of members, elected once in two years by respective branches. The National Council elects a National Executive to govern activities of the institute.

Each branch is managed by a branch committee which consists of four office bearers, namely Chairman, Vice Chairman, Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer and committee members. 

The institute has its administration headquarter in Mumbai having its Executive Secretary and Education headquarters in Mumbai having its Director of Education.

The institute publishes a bi-monthly magazine ' Materials Management Review ' for circulation among its members. The publication is managed from Pune.

In the history of IIMM, 26th Jan. 2003 was a special day when our own building admeasuring 5000 Sq. Ft. situated at plot nos. 102 & 104, Institutional Area, Sector 15, CBD-Belapur, Navi Mumbai - 400 614 was inaugurated by our National President Mr. A.S. Navadikar. This complex is first of its kind in India and have National and International facilities in the field of Education, Research, Advance MM studies, Publications, Networking and Materials Management subjects.
